SIDEL
Packaging service launched for sensitive drinks
Sidel (Le Havre / France; www.sidel.com) has launched a service to help customers choose the most suitable PET packaging for sensitive drinks, such as juice, milk and tea. The service involves assessing the interaction over time between the packaging and the drink, which could potentially undergo changes in colour or taste and or become contaminated by micro-organisms, light, oxygen or temperature. Sidel said it has invested EUR 1m in the new service, including a pilot plant for reproducing the customer’s formulation and testing it in different packages under varying conditions.
