SIDEL
Combined blowing and filling machine for PET bottles / Capacity 12,000 bottles/hour
Dubbing it "a new technological leap forward in integrated packaging", the Sidel group (BP 204, F-76053 Le Havre Cedex) introduced its combined blowing and filling machine "SBR 12/70" at the "Drinktec Interbrau ‘97" trade fair in Munich in September. The necessary expertise in volumetric isobar filling was provided by the Italian company Alsim Srl (Via Botteri 13, I-43100 Parma). Twelve molds and stretch-blow units and 70 filling units can form and fill – without conveying, storage or rinsing – PET bottles ranging from 0.2 to 2.25 liters at a maximum output rate of 12,000 per hour. According to Sidel, the "SBR 12/70" takes up only 1/2 the space of a standard machine line and substantially reduces production costs per bottle by eliminating the need for auxiliary equipment.
