Nordstjernan Invest to buy Health & Beauty division / Name change to “Sirius Machinery”
Swedish private equity group Nordstjernan (S-10375 Stockholm; www.nordstjernan.se) plans to acquire the Health & Beauty division of France´s Sidel group (F-76053 Le Havre; www.sidel.com), part of Tetra Laval International (CH-1009 Pully; www.tetralaval.com). The division includes Swedish packaging machinery producer Norden Pac International (S-39128 Kalmar; www.norden-pac.se) and French packaging machinery companies Kalix (F-91127 Palaiseau; www.kalix.fr), Citus (F-77212 Avon Cedex) and ADMV (F-38460 Cremieu).
The four companies are to become part of a new firm to be called Sirius Machinery, with Mats Heiman as managing director. According to Nordstjernan CEO Tomas Billing, the investor´s engagement is long term. The intention is to develop Sirius into world market leader for tube filling and lipstick filling machinery. Injection moulder Gislaved Plastindustri (GP, S-33280 Gislaved), with production sites at Gislaved / Sweden, and Dresden / Germany, is also part of the deal. It will be operated separately. All of the acquired companies together employ 500 and have annual sales of around EUR 85m.
