SIBUR
PP portfolio grouped under new “Sibex” brand name / Speciality and phthalate-free types
Sibur (Moscow / Russia; www.sibur.com) has reorganised and expanded its PP portfolio under a new brand name, “Sibex”. The family consists of five distinct product lines: Sibex Raffia for film thread, bag and big bag solutions; Sibex Rigid Packaging for injection moulded, thermoformed and extrusion blow moulded packaging; Sibex Pipe for piping, fittings and sheets; Sibex Fiber for non-woven fabric solutions, continuous fibres and multifilament yarns; and Sibex Film for BOPP and cast film. Sibex Fiber is also available in a phthalate-free version.
Commenting on the range, Sergey Komyshan, head of Basic Polymers at Sibur, said the materials “outperform imported peer products thanks to logistical benefits while offering a comparable or higher quality processability.” He added that “the introduction of phthalate-free solutions will drive the competitive advantage of Russian processing companies in both the domestic and overseas markets.”
Sibur recently expanded PP output at its Tomskneftekhim subsidiary, partly with a view to substituting the large number of imported polymers still used by Russian processors (see Plasteurope.com of 28.09.2016).
