Ineos license for PP plant in Yulin City / Methanol-to-olefins complex starts to take shape
Joining a string of other Chinese companies that have signed up for Ineos Technologies’ (Lyndhurst / UK; www.ineos.com) proprietary “Innovene” PP license is the Shenhua Group (Beijing / China; http://en.shenhuachina.com). The technology will be used to power the group’s 300,000 t/y PP plant in Yulin City, Shaanxi / China. The plant, which will turn out both homopolymers and copolymers, is part of Shenhua’s second methanol-to-olefins complex in the People’s Republic.
Shenhua recently acquired a LyondellBasell (Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.lyondellbasell.com) license for its LDPE/EVA plant in Yulin City – see Plasteurope.com of 29.02.2012. The Chinese group is developing the Yulin complex together with US chemical giant Dow (Midland, Michigan; www.dow.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 19.11.2010.
