SEMADENI
Subsidiary founded in Greece / Distribution of food packaging
The Semadeni Plastics Group (Ostermundigen / Switzerland; www.semadeni.com) subsidiary Logo-Plastic (Pratteln / Switzerland; www.logoplastic.ch) has established a new branch in Greece. Hellas Packaging at Thermi near Thessaloniki will mainly supply the food industry, under sales manager Vaggelis Xenidis. Packaging will be shipped from southeastern Europe, instead of being produced by the company itself. Semadeni manufactures plastic products, but it also acts as a wholesaler.
At company headquarters in Ostermundigen, the focus is on the manufacture of medical devices. In 2015, the Swiss company located near Berne acquired Logo-Plastic, following up in 2016 with the acquisition of the former PET Sachsen. At its site in Königstein / Germany, PET Sachsen produces PET bottles and HDPE packaging.
Thermi is the seventh location of the group, which was founded in 1952 and now has a staff of 150 and a turnover of CHF 40m (almost EUR 34m). Semadeni also has subsidiaries in Düsseldorf / Germany, Vienna / Austria, and in Bjelovar / Croatia.
