Italian manufacturer extends capacity / Carbon fibre fabrics for automotive industry

Selcom – Multiaxial Fabrics (Fregona / Italy; www.multiaxialfabrics.com), a manufacturer of uni- and multidirectional reinforcing fabrics, has built a second production plant in Fregona. The new factory increases its annual processing capacity from 2,550 t to 4,100 t.

The company specialises in technical fabrics made of carbon, glass, "Kevlar", basalt and natural fibres, which are used in composites sectors such as construction, marine and wind energy. The additional capacity is intended for the production of multiaxial carbon fibre fabrics. Selcom has been working on the development of bi- and triaxial carbon fibre fabrics for the automotive industry.
