Cost increase for PVOH
US polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) manufacturer Sekisui Speciality Chemicals (Dallas, Texas; www.sekisui-sc.com) has communicated a price increase for all its grades of polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). Effective 1 April 2011, the company plans to hike PVOH prices by EUR 100/t in Europe, USD 100/t in Asia, Mexico and Latin America as well as USD 0.05/lb in the US and Canada.
Sekisui blamed the hike on escalating raw material and transportation costs.
