SEALED AIR
Pack product manufacturing begins at Volgograd site
US protective packaging supplier Sealed Air (Elmwood Park, New Jersey; www.sealedair.com) has begun production at a EUR 9.5m food packaging plant at Volgograd in south western Russia. Subsidiary company CJSC Sealed Air Kaustik has opened the facility in a renovated unit on the Volgograd industrial complex of local partner Russian chemicals company JSC Kaustik (Moscow; www.kaustik.ru).

The facility will produce a range of pack products including multi-layer PP film packaging for the processed meat industry at 500 kg/h, expected to rise to 800 kg/h. Sealed Air first entered the Russian market in September 1993 and with merged company Cryovac set up joint venture production with Kaustik at Volgograd.
