Industrial packaging manufacturer Schütz (Selters / Germany; www.schuetz.net) is continuing to grow. After investing in expanding production and storage in St. Étienne / France earlier this year and setting up a new plant in Brisbane / Australia, the company has opened an additional plant in Indonesia that started operations in June. It is located on an existing 35,000 m² site in Karawang around 50 km from Jakarta.
At the site, an extrusion blow moulding machine will produce “Ecobulk MX” and “SX” intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) for the Indonesian market. A large warehouse also will allow the company to accept stock orders. The certification process for industry standard “FSSC 22000” is also underway. After completion, Schütz will also produce food-safe “Foodcert” packaging at the new plant. Another line to reprocess used IBCs will also be added. Schütz has been operating its plant in Karawang since 2013.
