SCHÜTZ
New production line for plastic drums in the UK
IBC world market leader Schütz (Selters / Germany; www.schuetz.de) is to expand its plastic drum operations in the UK during 2007, principally through increasing production capacity for its "F1" 220 litre tight-head drum. A new blow moulding line is currently being installed at the site of its subsidiary Schütz UK in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, including a continuous extrusion unit, automatic test equipment and palletising with a capacity of several hundreds of thousands of plastic drums annually. The line is due to come on stream in the second quarter of 2007.

Thanks to its successful "Ecobulk" line, Schütz is already the market leader among the producers of transport containers (IBCs) in England. The company now plans to outstrip its competitors in the plastic drum sector by intensifying its activities there, too. To make way for the new line, Schütz UK acquired extra land and extended the existing production area.
