Metalmark Capital acquires North American packaging operation for EUR 305m in cash
Metalmark Capital (New York / USA; www.metalmarkcapital.com) has purchased the North American packaging operations of SCA (Stockholm / Sweden; www.sca.se) for USD 400m (EUR 305m) in cash. The operations have annual sales of approximately USD 430m and the transaction is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2007.
The businesses acquired by Metalmark comprise protective packaging, consumer packaging and temperature-assurance packaging solutions and have a total of around 2,100 employees. The operations account for approximately 10% of SCA´s total sales within its packaging business area.
