Major upstream producers unite to address foreign anti-dumping charges

The "Saudi Gazette" newspaper reports that the kingdom’s leading petrochemical manufacturers, including Sabic (Riyadh / Saudi Arabia; www.sabic.com) and Tasnee (Riyadh / Saudi Arabia; www.tasnee.com), have set up a 15-member organisation to liase with the government in representing anti-dumping cases launched against Saudi producers abroad. The organisation, called the Saudi Committee of Petrochemical Manufacturers, is reportedly headed by Sabic CEO Mohamed Al Mady.
Several countries, including China, India and Turkey, have placed anti-dumping duties on Saudi products in the past. Turkey most recently lifted a duty it had imposed on Saudi PP imports, but at the same time launched an anti-dumping case against MEG sourced from Sabic – see Plasteurope.com of 09.01.2012.
