The Sarna Group – HQ: Sarna Kunststoff Holding AG (CH-6060 Sarnen) – is internationally active in its two divisions, Sarnafil (construction membranes) and Sarnatech (plastics processing). In the Sarnatech division the plastics processing unit, injection moulding and adhesive films, will be built up further. To the existing injection moulding plants in Switzerland and Germany two additional companies have been added. First is Schenk GmbH – renamed Sarnatech Schenk GmbH (Teckstr. 60, D-73734 Esslingen-Berkheim) – a specialist in automobile equipment and electrical components and, in both sectors, it holds a strong market position, employing 113 at its Esslingen plant and a further 18 at its subsidiary company Schenk & Albrecht GmbH in Thüringen. Second is Technamac Albert Eichhoff GmbH & Co – renamed Sarnatech technamac GmbH & Co (Ostlandstr. 5, D-51709 Marienheide) – which has a leading position in Germany in plastics components for automobile dashboards and central consoles, with 93 employees.

With this, the injection sector of Sarna embraces six factories with a total of 600 workers and SFr 130m sales. A company announcement states: "This size effectively reinforces the market position in Europe and in addition makes possible the exploitation of different synergy potentials. The particular strength in design, materials know-how and production will be further built up and made still more useful for customers".

The adhesive film section of the Sarnatech division will be strengthened by Guttacoll Klebstoffe GmbH & Co (Alter Postweg 19-21, D-21614 Buxtehude). Together with the Swiss company Sarnatech Xiro AG (CH-3185 Schmitten), the two are European market leaders in solvent-free, heat-activated adhesive films and non-wovens. The products are distributed worldwide. Jointly the two companies employ 85 people and total SFr 30m annual sales. The consolidated 1993 turnover of the Sarna Group, with 1,391 employees, was SFr 399m.
