Sanitized (Burgdorf / Switzerland; www.sanitized.com) has recently introduced TPL 27-40, an antibacterial and antifungal additive for use in the foam and coating PU industry. The material is also active against dust mites and is wash resistant.

The company, a producer of antimicrobial hygiene function and material protection for textiles and plastics, is now focusing on a strategy of direct commercialisation of its products in the personal care, healthcare and medical device markets, thanks to a successful partnership with the additives business unit of speciality chemicals producer Clariant (Muttenz / Switzerland; www.clariant.com).

Through addressing all criteria in developing a product, including end use, antimicrobial effects, risk assessment, materials and processes, regulation, and communication and marketing, Sanitized said it can now mutually contribute developing products with OEMs. The Swiss group added that it is investing further resources to meet the need for innovative products because of the introduction of new technologies in some application fields. “We bring new versatile multi-functional effects to the applications of our customers through research”, said Bruno Piastra, product manager polymer additives at Sanitized.
