Romi shareholders approve renegotiated takeover
In a second round of voting, shareholders of Brazilian group Industrias Romi (Santa Barbara d'Oeste; www.romi.com.br) approved the plan to acquire Italian injection moulding machinery manufacturer Sandretto (Collegno; www.sandretto.it). The EUR 5.5m cash deal, to be flanked by a promised EUR 8m investment in the company within the next two years, rescues Sandretto from the clutches of state administration. The Brazilian group has founded an Italian-based subsidiary, Romi Itália, to carry out the takeover.
