Faisal Al-Faqeer has been appointed CEO of Sadara (Jubail / Saudi Arabia; www.sadara.com). According to Sadara, Al-Faqeer has most recently been general manager for Saudi Aramco’s (Dhahran / Saudi Arabia; www.saudiaramco.com) refinery in Ras Tanura / Saudi Arabia, the largest refinery in the Middle East, and was a member of Sadara's board of directors since January 2017. Since his appointment as CEO, Al-Faqeer has stepped down from the company's board of directors.
Al-Faqeer succeeds Ziad Al-Labban, who led the construction of Sadara's facilities over the past five years. After bringing the company's completed lines onstream recently (see Plasteurope.com of 16.08.2017), Al-Labban will assume new responsibilities at Saudi Aramco.
Sadara is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical (Midland, Michigan / USA; www.dow.com). Recently, Saudi Aramco and Dow signed a memorandum of understanding, with Dow intending to increase its stake by 15% to a 50:50 joint ownership structure (see Plasteurope.com of 04.09.2017).
