Claudio Marani, currently general manager of the Ceramics division, has been named general manager of the Sacmi Group (Imola / Italy; www.sacmi.com) with effect from 10 November 2016. A graduate in Chemical Engineering, Marani has been with Sacmi since 1981. Beginning his career as project manager in North Africa – at the time the company’s biggest turnkey market – he became sales manager at Sacmi Impianti Milan in 1997 before moving to Ceramics in the early 2000s.

As general manager of the group, Marani said he will “continue the policy of investment and continuous innovation that has brought the Sacmi Group global manufacturing success." The former CEO Pietro Cassani unexpectedly left the Italian machinery maker some time ago (see Plasteurope.com of 14.11.2016).
