SABIC
PC line in Al-Jubail to hit full production in October
In the end, things did not go as fast as planned – see Plasteurope.com of 28.10.2010. The new 260,000 t/y polycarbonate line in Al-Jubail operated by the Saudi Kayan Petrochemical (Jubail Industrial City / Saudi Arabia; www.saudikayan.com) joint venture, in which state-owned Sabic (Riyadh / Saudi Arabia; www.sabic.com) holds the majority, is still in the midst of trial runs. There can be no talk of any commercial-scale activity yet. Given today’s reality, the company believes it will begin full-scale production by 1 October 2011.
