Sabic (Sittard / The Netherlands; www.sabic.com) is planning to extend its range of PP “Flowpact” impact copolymers in the fourth quarter of 2010. The range has been designed to provide benefits to converters, particularly in thin wall packaging, allowing them to make savings in unit production costs and energy, with additional benefits for related environmental considerations. The materials have proved popular in the high end food packaging sector, Sabic said.
“Flowpact” grades offer converters shorter cycle times with the potential for material downgauging, and enable them to process demanding thin walled parts much more consistently, the company claims. In production, the plastics offer easy mould filling and demoulding as well as high rigidity and antistatic properties.
