Sabic (Riyadh / Saudi Arabia; www.sabic.com) says its new PP random copolymer is highly transparent and allows energy savings for converters. The “Qrystal” PP can be processed at lower temperatures than comparable grades, offering energy savings of up to 15%, Sabic claims. It has good levels of optical performance and antistatic properties, the company adds.
The product is suitable for injection moulded products in homeware, office and home storage applications, as well as lids, caps and closures. It is available in two grades: PP QR673K with an MFI of 25, and PP QR675K with an MFI of 60.
