Clariant's conductive compounds business acquired / Equipment to be relocated to Ladenburg site
In a move that strengthens its global conductive compounds portfolio, US engineered thermoplastics compounder RTP Company (Winona, Minnesota; www.rtpcompany.com) announced that it had acquired the conductive compound product line of Swiss specialty chemicals producer Clariant (Muttenz; www.clariant.com). Financial details of the deal, which includes technology and equipment, were not disclosed.
Commenting on the transaction, RTP’s managing director Europe Jean Sirois said, “These conductive products and technology are a great addition to RTP Company’s already extensive family of conductive thermoplastic compounds that we will offer to our global customers.” RTP said it would relocate the production equipment to its production facility in Ladenburg / Germany, which it started up just last year – see also Plasteurope.com of 05.11.2010.
