France's Borde chooses classic PP/EVOH/PP jar for its red fruit range
French mushroom and berries processor Borde (Saugues; www.borde.fr) has chosen a classic PP/EVOH/PP container produced by RPC Containers Corby, part of RPC Group (Rushden / UK; www.rpc-group.com), for its new range of red fruits. The multi-layer packaging will be used for the French group’s raspberries, blueberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, cranberries, redcurrants, red fruit and cherries.
RPC said the jar not only protects against oxygen ingress, it also provides an ambient shelf life of up to 18 months while conserving the fruit’s taste and aroma. The container’s contact clear surface maximises on-shelf appeal, the company added, saying that it has a light weight, is easy to handle and has high resistance to breakage. The jars are fitted with an 80mm closure supplied by fellow group member RPC Halstead.
