RPC Bebo France moves to new site / Italian operation installs rPET extruder
RPC Bebo France, the French unit of global packaging giant RPC (Rushden / UK; www.rpc-group.com), has successfully completed its move from the centre of Troyes to a new site about 8km outside the city centre. The group had started the moving process in May last year, simultaneously producing at both sites until the end of June, when all machines had been transferred. The new site’s equipment, RPC says, minimises the carbon footprint thanks to reduced water and electricity consumption. RPC Bebo France employs 122 workers at the site.

In the meantime, the packaging group’s Italian operation, RPC Cobelplast-Montonate, has installed a new rPET extrusion line equipped with a co-rotating twin screw extruder and a high-efficiency melt filtration system. Using rPET and bottle flakes as feedstock, the line can turn out 25 t per day, or about 8,000 t/y. The project is still awaiting approval of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). RPC said the new line is highly energy efficient, saving about 30%.
