Norwegian food producer Mills (Oslo; www.mills.no) has teamed up with packaging specialist RPC Superfos (Taastrup / Denmark; www.superfos.com) to update the packaging for its “Flora” range of margarines. The re-launch of the healthy, low saturated fat products in an improved packaging solution from the Danish company recognises competition in the margarine business. A team from Mills and an independent industrial designer worked with RPC Superfos to create the packaging solution, which is injection moulded in PP.
Ole Kristian Vestbekken, senior packaging consultant at Mills, said: “With the new packaging we have successfully created a strong family image on shelf for 'Vita hjertego’ and 'Soft Flora' – each in three sizes.” Mills paid particular attention to the design of the lid in terms of looks and functionality. The decoration and graphic finish are created through in-mould labelling – including the rim.
