A new range of dessert toppings from Belgian manufacturer Colac (Malle; www.colac.be) is using a custom moulded 850ml multilayer bottle from RPC Promens Consumer (Kerkrade / The Netherlands; www.rpc-kerkrade.nl) to deliver a combination of long shelf life, premium image and on-shelf appeal. RPC Promens Consumer was formed through the acquisition by RPC (Rushden / UK; www.rpc-group.com) of rigid plastic producer Promens (Reykjavik / Iceland; www.promens.com) in February 2015 – see Plasteurope.com of 26.02.2015.

The bottle is finished in a champagne colour to provide differentiation and has a waisted design, colourful labels and an embossed Colac logo in its curve to provide a high impact appearance. It is blow moulded in PP/EVOH/PP, which protects the products against oxygen ingress to deliver an ambient shelf life of up to 24 months.

Colac dessert toppings are available in a range of flavours, including cherry, banana, strawberry, chocolate and caramel. They can also be added to hot drinks for flavour variation.
