RPC Bramlage (Lohne / Germany; www.rpc-bramlage.de) has introduced a new on-the-move drinking cup with lid that can be labelled by means of a hi-tech in-mould (IML) process. The PP cup is suitable for hot and cold beverages and comes in a concave-to-convex shape with a wide lid-opening.
The subsidiary of RPC (Higham Ferrers, Rushden / UK; www.rpc.eu) said that due to the cup’s shape, it was particularly challenging to enable IML. The fact that the company was able to come up with a solution means the cup can be covered with colourful high-impact decoration that can be extended to the lid as well, allowing customers to maximise their brand exposure and create what RPC called “a premium image”. The use of IML also means the step of decorating by printing or shrink sleeve is no longer necessary, allowing customers to save costs.
