Packaging films producer RPC bpi protec (Bromborough / UK; www.bpi-protec.com) has introduced “X-EnviroShrink”, a collation shrink film that contains 30% post-consumer recyclate and is itself 100% recyclable. According to the company, the new product adheres to the latest UK government proposals for plastic packaging.
X-EnviroShrink, which is produced using the in-house recycled polymer “Sustane”, is available in plain and printed versions for various products from beverage cans and bottles to canned food and cartons. In addition, the collation shrink film is suitable for high-speed packaging methods that support cost-effectiveness and speed-to-market.
RPC bpi protec – a specialist business unit within RPC bpi (Greenock / UK; www.rpc-bpi.com), itself a business unit within the RPC group (Rushden / UK; www.rpc-group.com) – is a global producer of polyethylene film products. By its own account, it supplies over 270,000 t/y of PE films while its recycling plants reprocess more than 120,000 t/y of waste from various sources.
