Custom pot brings extended shelf life to soup-on-the-go
Leading French food producer Délices de la Mer has selected a custom pot from RPC Bebo France, the French unit of global packaging giant RPC (Rushden / UK; www.rpc-group.com), for the launch of a healthy, organic soup range. RPC’s Bouxwiller / France site was chosen by the food producer as it was able to provide a suitable custom within a tight deadline, the company said.

The 400ml microwaveable pot is supplied with a 95mm diameter and uses PP/EVOH/PP barrier technology. It has been designed with customised cavities to allow for product sterilisation, providing a shelf life of 12 months.

RPC provided a complete solution with the supply of the pot, thermoformed cap and the spoon to allow eating on the go. The soup, which is being sold under the “Bjorg” brand name, was launched in two flavours – sweet potato and coconut, and minestrone with vegetables and wheat.
