Injection moulding company Rosti (Malmö / Sweden; www.rosti.com) is to strengthen activities in Eastern Europe. The company will build a brand new factory in Ploiești / Romaina, just a few kilometres from its existing plant operated by subsidiary Rosti Romania. The plans are for a 10,000 m² site for injection moulding and contract manufacturing, due to be completed in August 2020. “As customers are moving further into Eastern Europe, Rosti has responded by opening a new, larger plant,” said Ovidiu Lica, managing director of Rosti Romania.
Rosti founded the Romanian subsidiary in 2013 and, after modest beginnings, continually expanded, with the result that there was no longer enough space in the existing facility. Room for more growth in the future has also been included in the plans for the new site.
The Rosti group currently has eight production sites around the world with a total of over 400 injection moulding machines and a workforce of around 3,500. In addition, Rosti Automotive (Leamington Spa / UK; www.rostiautomotive.com – see Plasteurope.com of 15.03.2017) which has been independent since 2017, has four manufacturing facilities in the UK. Both groups are owned by the Swedish family-controlled investment firm, Nordstjernan.
