Flexibles manufacturer Roberts Mart (Leeds / UK; www.roberts-mart.co.uk) recently expanded its operations. The company has installed a Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H, Lengerich / Germany; www.wuh-group.com) LDPE co-extrusion film line that is in operation as well as a new warehouse. The W&H line is at the company’s dedicated extrusion facility in Leeds, which is nearby its print and conversion location.
A spokesperson told Plasteurope.com the addition has Roberts Mart reaching almost 10,000 t/y of capacity for PE alone. The line will support the recyclable film laminates the company is using to replace unrecyclable equivalent products. This latest addition follows installations of extra lamination and slitting capacity in 2019.
In addition, Roberts Mart has expanded its storage capabilities with a new warehouse located mid-way between its two manufacturing sites. It said the third warehouse acts as a finished goods despatch hub. The UK packaging firm also has plans to extend its print and conversion site.
