Increase in US capacity for foam pumps / Strong demand from hair care products manufacturers
Global consumer packaging producer Rexam (London / UK; www.rexam.com) is to increase capacity for the F2 polypropylene foam pump at its plant in Thomaston, Connecticut / USA. According to Casper Kleiman, product manager - foam, Rexam Personal Care Division, the pump introduced in 1997 has continued to increase in popularity for personal care applications, particularly hair care. It has enjoyed surprisingly buoyant sales since its introduction and the company expects “a huge increase” in demand from both multinational brands and smaller, brand owners. Kleiman said the unquantified investment at Thomaston “demonstrates our commitment to superior customer service, as well as to this segment of the personal care business.”
The patented F2 Finger Pump Foamer is a one-touch, mechanical dispenser that converts liquids into foam using sophisticated valve technology. It can be produced in a range of container shapes. The F2 is one of a family of foam dispensers developed by Rexam, of which more than 1 bn have been sold worldwide.
