REVERDIA
Bio-succinic acid partnership with Protea Chemicals / Targeting growth in Africa and Australia
Biomaterials producer Reverdia (Delft / The Netherlands; www.reverdia.com) has signed a collaboration agreement for its “Biosuccinium” with South African distributor Protea Chemicals (Bryanston; www.proteachemicals.co.za), a division of Omnia. The agreement covers the distribution of the bio-succinic acid in Africa and Australia, markets the two companies said they wish to develop, as well as potential investment in, and take-off from, future “Biosuccinium” production plants.

Jehiel Lawrence, head of business management at Protea Chemicals, said the development of its portfolio of bio-based solutions was a priority. “We can offer the leading bio-succinic acid to our customers in the biopolymers, polyurethanes and coatings sectors to make their products truly sustainable,” he added.

Reverdia began offering licenses for its Biosuccinium in October 2014 (see Plasteurope.com of 15.10.2014).
