Expansion of film and closure site in Lithuania

Packaging manufacturer Retal (Mytishchi / Russia; www.retalgroup.com) is investing around EUR 4m to expand its site in Klaipėda / Lithuania. A 4,000 m² building will be constructed for storage and administration. Its subsidiary Retal Baltic has signed an agreement to expand its existing premises that are in the Klaipėda Free Economic Zone.
At its Lithuanian site, Retal produced 12,000 t of PET film in 2017, mainly for the food industry, as well as 2.5 bn HDPE bottle caps for customers in the EU and Africa. Retal says there is growing demand from its customers both inside and outside Europe. The group employs about 600 people in Lithuania, including 400 at Retal Baltic and its sister company, PET and polyol producer the Neo Group (Vilnius; www.neogroup.eu), in Klaipėda. General manager of Retal Baltic, Viktorija Jurevičiūtė, is aiming for record sales of EUR 44m in 2018.
The Retal group's parent company, Retal Industries, is based in Limassol / Cyprus. The group operates 10 plants in Russia and 13 plants in 11 other countries. Its workforce totals more than 2,800 employees.
