Resilux (Wetteren, Belgium; www.resilux.com) has announced that its Swiss unit Poly Recycling (Bilten; www.polyrecycling.com) has purchased a 70% stake in Serbian PET recycler Greentech (Novi Sad; www.greentech.rs/en/), a move that adds further recycling capacity in the Balkan region. The acquisition also enhances Resilux’s post-consumer bottle collection and sorting capability. Financial details were not disclosed.
Founded in 2005, Greentech’s recycling facility in Mladenovo, Serbia processes up to 10,000 t/y of waste PET into hot-washed PET flakes.

Poly Recycling has also acquired 70% of the shares of Greentech’s collection and sorting facility in Skopje, North Macedonia. Used PET products sorted by colour and type at this facility are shipped to the Mladenovo site for recycling.
The acquisition provides Resilux with a local source of A-grade PET flakes to serve its Serbian preform and bottling plant in Lajkovac. It also enables the company to supply customers in the Adriatic region with reclaimed material ahead of new EU regulations requiring at least 25% recycled material in all PET bottles effective from 2025.
Mihail Mateski is to remain general manager and a 30% shareholder in Greentech Serbia and North Macedonia.
