French consortium to develop water injection technology / Process and material improvement
Renowned French plastics research institutes such as the Institut Superieur de Plasturgie de l´Ouest (Ispa, F-61041 Alencon; www.ispa.asso.fr) and the Institut Superieur du Moule (Ismo, F-61000 Alencon; www.ismo61.com) have formed a consortium with other organisations to further develop water injection technology (WIT). Within the next three years, the group operating under the auspices of Centre Technique des Industries Mecaniques (Cetim, F-60304 Senlis Cedex; www.cetim.fr) aims to improve processes and materials as well as developing simulation software. Additional goals are to shorten cooling times and reduce wall thicknesses.
