"Bitruder" extruders for wood polymer composites installed at Kosche plant / Profiles added to range
Over the past months, six extrusion lines manufactured by Reifenhäuser (Troisdorf / Germany; www.reifenhauser.com) have been installed at the Kosche (www.kosche.de) wood plastics composite (WPC) production facility in Much / Germany. The installation has allowed Kosche to extend its range of composite wood board products through the addition of high-quality WPC profiles.

"Bitruder" twin-screw extruders form the basis of the WPC production lines and are equipped with counter-rotating, intermeshing screws providing optimum conditions for processing wood fibres and thermoplastic materials including PE and PP. According to Reifenhäuser, screw geometry and wear resistance in the screws and barrels are specially adapted to different wood and polymer types and formulations of WPC products.
The "Kovatool" dies for wood extrusion are designed and built by Kosche. They are purpose-made to process specific materials, allowing quick start-up in the production of a wide range of WPCs under the "Kovalex" brand name.
