New automotive plant in South Africa
The automotive division of global polymer processor Rehau (Rehau / Germany; www.rehau.com) has opened a new production plant in Port Elisabeth / South Africa. The company invested EUR 20m in the facility, its second in the country. The plant will create about 130 new jobs and will produce and coat the front and rear bumpers of the VW “Polo”. The group said the fully assembled bumper systems with integrated headlight cleaning equipment, park-distance control and fog lights will be delivered directly to the assembly line of the nearby VW plant in Uitenhage.
Altogether, Rehau employs some 300 workers at six sites in South Africa.
