Ravago N.V. (Moerenstraat 89, B-2370 Arendonk) has set up a new company in Italy for its polymer distribution activities, Resinex Italia S.r.l. (Via S e P Mazzuchelli 7, I-21043 Castiglione Olona/VA). At the same time it has completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% of MP Compounds in which it had originally taken a stake from Mazzuchelli Polimeri three years ago. The Italian compounding operation will move to new premises later in 1997. It manufactures a range of products based on ABS, PC, PS and PP primarily for automotive applications. Turnover for 1996 was around ITL 60bn.

Resinex distributes for Dow (PS and PE), Hoechst (PP) and Phillips (K-resin). In Italy at least 80% of its business is in sales to the extrusion sector (mainly LDPE). Prior to the creation of Resinex Italia, distribution had been carried out via Mazzuchelli Polimeri.
