Reaction resin specialist Rampf Giessharze (Grafenberg / Germany; www.rampf-giessharze.de) has introduced a fast curing PU foam gasket system for two and three dimension high pressure processing. “Raku-Pur” 35-3500 HD has minimal water absorption and the delayed reaction of the foam sealant ensures optimum mixing in the mixing head.
The resin has a specific gravity of 260 g/l and is available with a range of properties – from liquid to highly thixotropic. The manufacturer says the foam forms a clearly defined skin and offers levels of mechanical strength that make it suitable for use in the automotive industry in applications where shearing forces occur during the assembly of functional components. It is also claimed to adhere successfully to a range of surfaces. When applied under high-pressure, dispensing rates as low as 3 to 5 g/s can be achieved.
