RADICI
Sales down 12% in 2008
Angelo Radici, CEO of Radici (Bergamo / Italy; www.radicigroup.com) gave a very brief report on the company's 2008 performance on 20 March 2009. Sales were EUR 957 m, well below the EUR 1.1 bn achieved in 2007. The Chemicals segment, which comprises polyamide and its pre-products, reported sales of EUR 323 m. No accurate sales split by segment is available for 2007 but since Chemicals accounted for 30% of the total, its revenues were probably around EUR 357 m. The Plastics segment accounted for 14% of sales in 2007 while Fibres accounted for 56%. Radici has not published details of earnings in 2008.
The group’s output in 2008 was probably below the 534,000 t reported for 2007 since production of adipic acid and PA 6.6 was scaled back in October 2008. Radici said that the market for polyamide 6 and 6.6 continued to change very fast but stressed the company wanted to remain in the business.
