QUADRANT EPP
Engineering plastic introduced for semiconductor applications
Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products (Quadrant EPP, Lenzburg / Switzerland; www.qplas.com) has launched “Semitron” MPR1000, an engineering plastic developed for semiconductor applications, more specifically for use in vacuum chambers. The company said the material can be chosen as an alternative to ceramics or quartz in plasma-based applications.

The material combines superior toughness and up to 25 times longer life over traditional plastics such as Polyimide, while providing lower overall cost in use and ease of machining compared to semiconductor-grade ceramics, Quadrant said.
