Quadrant CMS (Creative Moulding Systems, Tielt / Belgium; www.quadrantcms.com) recently began production at its purpose-built plant in the Leshegy Ipari Industrial Park at Szigetszentmiklos / Hungary. The company said the decision to build a new facility in central-eastern Europe reflects its strategy to "follow" customers who move production to the region, so that it is in a position to supply plastic components locally. In Hungary, Quadrant CMS supplies the nearby assembly plant of Bosch Power Tools at Miskolc. Bosch built its largest power tool assembly plant at the Hungarian site in 2004 and simultaneously transferred all production of its "Skil" range from Breda / The Netherlands.
The new facility, currently employing 30 people, houses injection moulding machines equipped with robots, including machinery for two- and three-component moulding and secondary operations. The Szigetszentmiklos plant also serves tier-one automotive customers with either new moulds developed for new applications, or moulds moved from Quadrant CMS´ Belgium plant.
