P WILKINSON CONTAINERS
Family-owned firm claims to be UK's first to make containers with recycled HDPE
UK-based packaging group P Wilkinson Containers (London; www.pwcon.co.uk) said it is the first company in the UK to offer industrial packaging products made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) HDPE. The family-owned firm has announced that its 20-litre “Europack” canister and five-litre compact jerry can feature up to 30% reclaimed material and are being sold exclusively through the company.

Stuart Wilkinson, P Wilkinson Containers’ sales and marketing director, said that PCR material has not always been suitable for certain applications, such as medical or food production. But it is said that the two new products have been “rigorously tested by a technical team” to ensure that the packaging material performs consistently.

Besides plastic packaging, P Wilkinson Containers produces metal and cardboard packaging and labelling products from its base in south London.
