European PVC industry recycling scheme Recovinyl (Brussels / Belgium; www.recovinyl.com) has launched “RecoTrace” (www.recotrace.com), a system to monitor, verify and report PVC recycling and uptake across Europe. Ingrid Verschueren, Recovinyl’s general manager, said the platform was designed so that recyclers and converters can register data safely and securely. The system will show the flow of the material with complete traceability, she said. “If you recycle PVC waste or use PVC recycled plastics in new products, contact Recovinyl so that you can register your data in RecoTrace and join us in the PVC industry’s journey to make PVC circular,” Verschueren added.
Recovinyl was reported to be the largest contributor to PVC collected and recycled across Europe in 2019. Of the 771,313 t of PVC waste reclaimed, the industry scheme registered 769,233 t (see Plasteurope.com of 16.11.2020).
