PU PRODUCTION
ISOPA starts European safety initiative
The European Diisocyanate & Polyol Producers Association (ISOPA, Brussels / Belgium; www.isopa.org) is launching a Europe-wide initiative to promote the safe handling of chemicals used in making polyurethane products. The association said it believes that greater awareness, better communications and continuous training will promote safety-conscious behaviour and prepare the industry for the implications of REACH (see Plasteurope.com Web of 19.01.2006), the new EU regulatory regime for chemicals.
