The specialist for PU rigid foam, Puren (Überlingen / Germany; www.puren.com) is expanding its plant in Obermarchtal. The company reports that, by autumn 2022, the site will have a new production facility, additional storage space for secondary raw materials and finished products, and additional office space. Construction will take place in three phases. At the same time, the local workforce will be increased by about 35 employees.

In Obermarchtal, about 70 km north of its headquarters in Überlingen, Puren produces the recycling material “purenit” from PU rigid foam production waste, but also from construction site waste.

According to information provided by the company, the heat-insulating functional material has processing properties comparable to wood, but does not warp or expand. It is used, for example, in ship interior finishing and for bathroom panelling.
