PTTGCA plans to construct and operate the new chemical recycling complex, to be located on Swaco property at its Green Economy business park. The complex is expected to be an enclosed operation that manufactures recycled polyethylene and polyethylene terephthalate into unspecified products. A final investment decision in the project is to be made by the end of 2022.
PTTGCA has signed a separate MoU with Ohio-based waste and recycling management company Rumpke (Cincinnati; www.rumpke.com) to supply recycled plastics feedstocks to the new complex. The US subsidiary also plans to build a new ethane cracker plant in Ohio (see Plasteurope.com of 19.11.2015). However, as reported by local news services, construction has been stalled as the company continues to search for project investment.
