Scandinavia's leading 3D printing specialist acquires Acron Formservice / Norwegian product engineering specialist Minoko becomes sole owner
Prototal (Jönköping / Sweden; www.prototal.se) has announced its takeover of Acron Formservice (Anderstorp / Sweden; www.acron-form.se), which expands its capacity for additive manufacturing. The move strengthens Prototal’s position as the Scandinavian market leader for 3D-printed plastic parts and complements investments in Jönköping and Ystad, says Prototal CEO Henrik Lundell. For production in Jönköping, the company recently purchased a fourth unit for multi-jet fusion (MJF) for 3D printing glass fibre-reinforced polyamide 12 components. The combined capacities of Acron and Prototal now include MJF, stereolithography (SLA) and selective laser sintering (SLS) manufacturing.

The Jönköping-based company has also announced a deal concluded with design and engineering company Minoko (Levanger / Norway; www.minoko.no), whereby the Norwegian company acquires the last 50% of shares in Prototal and becomes the sole owner. The transaction increases production capacity at Minoko’s site in Levanger.

Prototal acquired the 3D printing specialist GT Prototyper from Ystad in 2018. The company now has four locations with 175 employees and annual sales of around SEK 320m (EUR 30m). Acron took over Plastic Engineering at the beginning of 2019, which strengthens its CAD expertise.
