German window profile supplier to build Serbian production plant / “Hub for Southeast Europe”

With the acquisition of a 600,000 m² plot of land in Serbia, PVC window profile manufacturer Profine (Troisdorf, Germany; www.profine-group.com) has announced the details of its expansion plans in Southeast Europe. Situated between the capital city of Belgrade and Novi Sad, the country’s second-largest city, the site is to be home to the first production facility in the country, which is to be built over the next few months and serve as a “hub for Southeast Europe”. Peter Mrosik, Profine group CEO, said, “We manufacture our profiles where they are needed and thus significantly save on transport.”

Extrusion capacity for window profiles in Serbia is to gradually increase to at least 50,000 t. The company currently makes 450,000 t of profiles for windows and doors and PVC screening systems and panels at its 11 production sites in Italy, Spain, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Germany .
Profine employs around 3,000 and reported a rise in turnover to more than EUR 900 mn last year from over EUR 700 mn in 2020.
